Showdown Spoiler!

Unbeaten Mentor traveled to Shaker Heights Friday in hopes of tune-up for Saturday night's marquee match up with Lakewood St.Edward's. However, Heights had different ideas.

The Cardinals were playing without 2nd leading scorer and floor general senior Jaron Crowe but leading scorer junior Cole Crizancic exploded for 41 points in his absence. Though, it still wasn't enough as Shaker Heights made some key free-throws down the stretch to hold on for a 76-69 victory.

Crowe missed the contest with a knee injury suffered on Tuesday in a win over Eastlake North.

Ed's got 18 points from junior Delbert Love, 16 by Louisville commit junior James Zach Price, 15 from sophomore guard Myles Hamilton, and 12 by senior Matt Stainbrook.

Junior guard Trey Lewis led Garfield with 23 points followed by freshman Tony Farmer's 15 and sophomore Mike Davis adding 14.
