The Northeast Ohio big boys will be looking to make a statement this weekend with several key games on the slate.
Unbeaten Mentor will play at Shaker Heights on Friday before heading to Lakewood on Saturday to face off with St. Edward's (11-3). The Cardinals would certainly make a statement with a road win over Ed's. Mentor already owns high-profile wins over Massillon Jackson and Warren Harding.
St.Ed's will be at home on Friday with a talented Garfield Heights outfit before its showdown on Saturday with Mentor. Ed's could solidify itself as the best team in NE Ohio with a sweep of this weekend's games giving proof to OHSH's theory of the Eagles being the most talented team in the NE.
Warren Harding, after suffering a rare home defeat at the hands of upstart Canton McKinley, will try to knock off undefeated Mansfield Sr. on the road this Saturday.
Canton Glen Oak, after handing D-2 No. 1 Dayton Dunbar its first loss last weekend, will try to keep momentum going as they take the road against a very good North Canton Hoover team.
We should know a lot more after this weekend giving our Top 5 in D-1 a chance to be its most accurate.
